Memories of 2 Aust Field Survey Company 1940–1944 by LTCOL HPG Clews, produced 1966. An important collection of memories of those who served in that Second World War unit in particular with the background of Major Clews who was the unit Officer Commanding responsible for raising and training the unit with elements deployed in NSW, QLD, New Guinea, Dutch New Guinea, New Britain and Bougainville. 2 Company was the first field survey company raised in the war. FIELD SURVEY OPERATIONS We continue to canvass support for this project to collect details on post WW2 survey ops. Our collective memory can fill in many gaps but it is fading with the passing of years. It is over ten years since the disbandment of the Corps we as individuals served, the Corps that gave such outstanding service to our nation for eighty-one years. We need to record what each of the units did over the fifty years following the end of WW2. It really is a simple exercise. The following files show what we have collected so far.
